honestly do not think Dumbledore is gay. JKR should have wrote it into the books if it was true. Her saying it after the series was completed kind of made it seem like a ploy to attract more readers.

WHAT DID YOU WANTED!? DUMBLEDORE WEARING RAINBOW ROBS AND RIDING UNICORNS WHILE TROWING GLITTER TO THE STUDENTS?

Reminder that the first time we see Dumbledore he’s wearing fucking “high heeled, buckled boots”, a purple cloak that swishes above the ground, and ~~a fucking dress~~ robes, so I don’t know why people say he’s anything else than bitchin’ fabulous.

Also reminder that Rowling did not “suddenly reveal he was gay all along”, she replied to a fan question about whether Dumbledore, the man who believes in the strength of love, had ever been in love himself; she replied that he had been in love with Grindelwald. This was very clear all through the book, I’m sorry if this sounds like I had shipping goggles while reading but Rita Skeeter’s entire book is all about telling the wizarding world that Dumbledore had a romantic affair with a future Dark Lord. That is why the whole thing is perceived as embarrassing and uncomfortable by some characters.
Rowling’s wording means we don’t know if a relationship did happen or even if Dumbledore’s feelings were requited, but Harry figures it out. I’m sorry but go back and read the King’s Cross chapter, there is only one reason Harry tells him what he does about Grindelwald. He knows Dumbledore loved him and he’s telling him that even after his death, Grindelwald cares about him too. That is what it’s all about even though the words are never stated, it’s clear as day.

Rowling also later said she had previously written “He’s gay!” in the script of a movie scene where he mentioned something like “I knew this girl when I was young…” (which thus got written out). The things about Rowling is that there are hundreds of things she knows about her characters that didn’t make it into the books; Dean has an entire epic backstory that didn’t make it! Rowling’s reaction to the cheers following her reveal were “If I’d known it would make you so happy, I would have announced it years ago!”. Her only fault on this topic was that she had not realized how really, really important it was for some of her readers and that yes, actually stating it years before would have been fantastic.

So no, I’m sorry, it wasn’t handled the best way it could have been, but it wasn’t just a publicity stunt, and it was in the book.

Mio is just kind of quietly devastated and also hurt because Ritsu is doing what she always does and directing her feelings - in this case anger - at Mio, yelling at her for not being more upset.

[11:09:29 p.m.] Piggy: It's actually Ritsu who stops her from killing herself through starvation
[11:10:19 p.m.] Piggy: When she finds out Yui's not eating, she goes over there and tries to talk to her. She ends up yelling, and eventually slapping her and asking her if she wants to do to Ui on purpose what Azusa did to her by accident.
[11:10:40 p.m.] Piggy: So Yui lives, for Ui's sake, and for her friends. But not for herself. Not for a long time.
[11:11:37 p.m.] Piggy: Sawa's the one who snaps her back, in the end. She's lost friends before, and she's coped with depression and misery before. So one day she picks Yui up and just drives all the way to Azusa's grave. And she starts to play.

[11:12:59 p.m.] Piggy: For hours, it's just her. And then Yui starts to feel like that's not right. Like it shouldn't be Sawa playing for Azusa. Sawa wasn't the one Azusa wanted to be like. Sawa isn't the one Azusa made better. It's her right, but it's Yui's responsibility.
[11:13:32 p.m.] Piggy: After all, Azusa was just like Ui, to Yui - she was wonderful, and amazing, but Yui never really noticed everything she did for her. She took it for granted. And then it was gone.

[11:14:01 p.m.] Piggy: So she picks up Gitah, and she starts playing too.
[11:14:04 p.m.] Piggy: It's a small step.
[11:14:11 p.m.] Piggy: An incredibly long time coming.

[11:14:24 p.m.] Piggy: She writes a song.
[11:14:40 p.m.] Piggy: And she arranges a gig - HTT's first and last by that name. For Azusa.
[11:14:52 p.m.] Piggy: They won't be Hokage Tea Time without her. They refuse.

[11:22:40 p.m.] Bombastic Bookman: It's not the last time. There's one other time, years later, and they've made it big, and are finally playing at Budokan. They go back to that name one last time, and Yui plays not on Gitah but on Muttan, because they wouldn't be there without Azusa, because Azusa is still with them somehow, in someway, and they're going to play together at the stadium of their dreams like it should be.

I love that there’s a blog called “this is white culture” that is solely devoted to bad things white people did, not their cultures at all. So I guess I can make a blog called “this is black culture” and post gang and crime records and that’s 100% okay. Or “this is Muslim culture” and make it all about terrorism.

But wait, you cry. Not all black people are criminals and not all Muslims are terrorists. That’s unfair! And racist!

WELL GOLLY GEE DO YOU THINK SO? Because saying that all white people are responsible for the Atlantic slave trade sounds pretty racist to me, given that, you know, that was between the African slaveholders and the British and Americans and had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with my ancestors, who were incredibly poor farmers and serfs from Ireland and Lithuania who had to flee to America at around the turn of the century (by which time slavery had already been abolished in the US) because they were being treated like slaves. Even if they had been living in America at the time when slavery was legal they wouldn’t have been able to afford a slave; in fact they probably would have been working with them in the fields and treated about the same, since the first slaves in America were actually white serfs. But please, tell me more about how dirty my hands are because of circumstances surrounding my birth that I could not control and continue to treat me differently based on the color of my skin without actually knowing anything about my heritage, I’m sure that isn’t racist at all!
