I tried a 2-D printer once, and the paper jammed.

So now I just painstakingly re-create my paper copies by hand, like a medieval monk.

i tried using paper, but the edges crumpled

so now i just chisel my commandments into stone, like old testament god

I tried using stone, but it cracked and broke.

Now I just scream everything at passersby, hoping they’ll remember what I said so I can ask them about it when I need it.

I tried shouting things at passersby but they ignored me.

Now I emit allohormones in a gypsobelum that bonds selectively with the recipient’s hemolymph to reconfigure their bursa copulax into a copulatory canal. I can only say one thing, “I want to mate with you,” but really, what else ever needs to be said?

Jacob’s New Dress by Sarah & Ian Hoffman

This is a story about a little boy who enjoys wearing dresses and the difficulties he (and his family) face with this decision. Emily, a little girl in his class, likes the dresses Jacob likes to wear and Jacob and his mother have fun together sewing a special dress for him to wear. However, another little boy, Christopher, doesn’t think boys are allowed to wear dresses.

The grown ups are understanding and have realistic responses, while still being very kind to Jacob. The story doesn’t say that everyone will accept Jacob’s decision, but it shows how he finds his courage to dress however he wants to.

It’s a really nice little story and it’s nice to see representation for gender non-conforming kids. <3

People criticizing TFIOS because Gus sounds pretentious???

that was the point???

like literally at his fake funeral his best friend talks about how fucking pretentious he is and how annoying it was???

It was one of his character flaws? He was deliberately written that way?

You’re not being clever or critical by pointing it out, you are literally stating a fact about the novel that the author deliberately wrote

I read about halfway through the book and stopped. I just lost interest because Gus just wasn’t that interesting. I get the idea that his character flaws (apparently) are laid out later in the book, but over halfway through the story? At least Alaska’s flaws were pretty damn apparent from the get go (well, I get why that was, but spoilers).
